Housekeeper Vacancy at Shepherd’s Dene
The Shepherd’s Dene Retreat Centre is part of our Diocese of Newcastle.
They tell us that “One of our house keepers is leaving to take on a new role. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with previous hotel/professional housekeeping experience and a great team worker, who has an empathy towards Church of England as we host retreats for a variety of clergy and lay guests. We currently operate with a team of three housekeepers each working 30 hours per week on an annualised hours contract basis, generally between Monday to Friday, but with occasional weekend and bank holiday working.
The main duties are cleaning a large Edwardian house. We have both day guests and residential guests, and, on a busy day, the housekeepers can be responsible for cleaning and preparing all 18 bedrooms, public areas as well as the Coach House Cottage (sleeps 3), which is situated in the grounds. The housekeepers are integral members of a small staff team, involved in welcoming our guests and helping provide a high standard of Christian hospitality.
